Lily of the Valley prefers a full shade position in cool climates likes cold damp shady spot with plenty of compost and leaf mulch. Plant with pips just under the soil surface. Lily of the Valley is ideal in pots, under trees and are highly prized as a cut flower.

Tips: Lily of the Valley take a few years to become established and are best when undisturbed. More suited to cold climates and will bloom best after a hard, cold winter.

How to Plant

Lily of the valley will take a few years to establish and best not to be disturbed. Is more suited to cooler climates and will bloom best after a harsh cold winter.

Soil

Well drained , moist, humus rich soil is required.

Fertilise

Well-rotted animal manure, blood and bone or a complete fertiliser should be worked into the soil before planting. A top dressing of well-decayed animal manure in winter
will also assist growth and produce larger blooms. Also likes to be mulched regularly with a leafy moss or compost.

Watering

Needs to be kept moist during spring and summer.

Prunning

Leave undisturbed once established. Likes a cool, damp shady Position. Dislikes warm humid weather and acid soils
